faculty, which includes many of the top players from the Pittsburgh
Symphony Orchestra.

Mark Chung's Jazz Strings Website An important resource for jazz strings. Mark O'Connor The pre-eminent fiddler of our time. He is also a historic personage -- breaking down barriers, as a violinist and composer, to forge a new connection with the mainstream of Western Classical Music. Christian Howes -- Arguably the best jazz violinist playing today. Roy invited him to Pittsburgh last spring and he wowed the jazz pros at James St. Tavern. You'll hear some spectacular audio clips on his website. Darol Anger -- The founder of the Turtle Island String Quartet and a constant innovator in the fiddle/violin world. An inspiration for us all. Not content with being the world's greatest cellist, Yo Yo Ma has
devoted himself to breaking down the barriers of the musical world --
recording with Stephane Grappelli and Mark O'Connor, playing Brazilian
music and Argentine Tango. In 1998 he founded the Silk Road Project "to
plant the seeds of new artistic and cultural growth, and to celebrate
living traditions and musical voices throughout the world."
