Texas Style Fiddle Tunes—KATIE GLASSMAN

This video focuses on bowing, rhythm and feel as well as a tune or two. When you’re playing any fiddle style, the bow is your voice. You may know your tunes very well but be wondering why they don’t sound as good as you want them to. Often, it’s a tweak in the way that you’re playing the tune and the way that you’re moving your bow that will give you the “sound.” We’ll study the three elements of bowing and will contrast Texas Fiddling bowings with swing bowings. We’ll practice your bowing and rhythm in a way that will help take your playing to the next level.
